She lights the diya putting red liquid so that when its light falls on the daayan then she comes in her daayan avatar and she can catch her.
Vedashree switches off the electricity and takes the diya in front of everyone and when she takes it near Ruby then her eyes get ablaze.
Everyone gets shocked but Vedashree is not able to see Ruby's face and somehow Ruby manages to escape and everyone fails to see her.
Vedashree's plan to find out daayan gets ruined therefore she gets irked.
